While I am a fan of most of Tarantino's work as a director (much less as an actor) The Hateful Eight did not muster up enough nuanced thought in its bolder moments nor packed a satisfying and cathartic climax that that I find so exhilarating in a Tarantino film.A sad dissapointment although looks fantastic with a skilled projectionist.

Yet another strong example of an undeniable first time filmmaker. Robert Egger's shows us how much a setting can do for films (especially those of a low budget). Scout the perfect location and leverage that advantage on camera to create unique atmosphere and grit. A bold and confident debut from Eggers bolserted by unforgettable performances from adults and children alike.
